NITTA Announces US Marketing
Company for Optical Splitters

NEW YORK — NITTA Corporation of Osaka, Japan, has announced the appointment of TMI Optics Sales Company of Armonk, New York, to market their planar optical splitters in the United States. "Although a relatively newcomer to the optical networks components business, NITTA brings to the market a long history of successful experience in polymer and precision manufacturing technology of polishing of silicon wafers, sensors, and mechtronics for the production of high-quality automotives. In addition to its manufacturing and R&D capabilities, NITTA brings the financial strength, quality manufacturing, and a long-term view of the corporation" according to Dr. Paul Polishuk, President of IGI Consulting, a leading consultant in the optical network components field.

The splitter product family includes extremely low insertion loss, the use of bend insensitive fiber (bend radius 15 mm), and small packaging size, for example for a 1x32 splitter the package is 50x7x4mm. NITTA's splitters have been used extensively in Japanese FTTH projects and have passed Telecordia GR 1221 & 1209 for Verizon and AT&T Qualification.
